Section 3 Class C-3 Championship (full results at leonetiming.com)
The Cato-Meridian boys made it a sweep of the Team Titles for the Patriot League, winning the C-3 Championship in a runaway with 143 points, beating Cooperstown (86) and Dolgeville (76). The Blue Devils won 5 events, capping off a great season which included an indoor track team title and several school records being broken. Chris Morency won the 400IH (59.17) and the Long Jump (20' 5"). Alexander Schutt broke his own school record in winning the 400m (50.39), and was part of a record setting 1600 meter relay team along with Lucas Dorgan, Micah Muhlnickel, and Landon Gillmore (3:31.55). Brady Aukema took the High Jump (5' 10") for the fifth win for the Blue Devils. Team depth led to the big win, as Schutt took third in both the 100m and 200m, Landon Gillmore gave Cato-Meridian a 1-2 finish the 400m, the Blue Devils also took second place in the 400 meter relay and third in the 3200 meter relay. Owen Gillmore was runner up in both the Shot Put and the Discus. Liam Ae added thirds in both the Long Jump and Triple Jump for the champions.
Port Byron had the only other champion for the Patriot League, with Braden Taylor winning the 110HH (15.40). Braden will be a favorite to advance to the State Meet in that event next week at the State Qualifier at C-NS.
Christian LaValley was second in the 400IH (60.19) to lead Weedsport as the Wolverines finished with 20 points. Maison Hamm was third in the Discus (116' 3") and Aiden Leonard was third in the Pole Vault (10' 6").
Nick Houghton took second in the Pole Vault (11' 6") for Tully as the Knights ended with 36.5 points. Noah Houghton was fourth in the Triple Jump (38' 1.5") and Nate Houghton tokk fourth in a fast 1600 meter race (4:42.97)
Bishop Ludden Grimes finished with 19 points as Porter Sheen was runner up in the 1600m (4:38.66).
