State Qualifier Meet (full results at leonetiming.com)

Girls

A big day for the Patriot League girls teams as they actually topped the boys by winning seven events. And sending a couple more young ladies to the State Meet as they met the Super Standard for their event earlier in the year and finished in the top five.

Pulaski had three wins to lead the way. Kylie Dye won the 400m (59.97), Vanessa Trumble took the High Jump (5' 6") and the Lady Blue  Devils won the 400 meter relay (Megan Dailey, Kendall Dye, Kylie Dye, and Vanessa Trumble) in 49.16 as they hope to move up one spot from last year's State Meet and take a state title in that event. Grace Carguello finished third in the Steeplechase (7:39.39), but she qualified for next week by hitting the Super Standard earlier this season. Grace added a second in the 3000m (10:54.59). The same foursome that won the 400 meter relay took third in a fast 1600 meter relay in 4:04.19. Megan Dailey finished second in the 200m (25.77) and qualified in the Long Jump by finishing second and breaking the League Record in that event by leaping 18' 10.75".

Tully took the 3200 meter relay as Mary Adams, Desiray Gables, Alex Dickson and Anna Congelli ran 9:32.76. Anna will also be running the 800m as she repeated as champion in that event in 2:19.53 as she also hopes to move up one spot next week to the top of the podium.

Myah Keenan of Fabius-Pompey repeated as champion in the 3000m (10:48.82) and finished second in the Steeplechase (7:27.03). McKenna Johnson finished second in the 1500m (5:01.90) but she has a 4:39 from earlier this season to make the Super Standard.

Brielle Nels of Onondaga/ Lafayette will make the trip to the State Meet as a freshman after winning the 100m (12.38). (The 100 meter record for the Patriot League may be getting rewritten quite a bit the next few years, as Brielle and Megan Dailey both have a 12.38 time, matching the third fastest ever, behind Vanessa Trumble's 12.17, and her old record of 12.37). The Tigers Molly Humphrey had a strong showing as the eighth grader finished third in the 3000m (10:56.06) and fourth in the Steeplechase (7:36.69).

Maggie Brown of Cato-Meridian will return to the State Meet as well after a third place in the Pentathlon (2747 points). Maggie had already made the Super Standard in the Pentathlon so a top five finish was all that was needed to qualify.

Adelyn Gross of Weedsport was second in the Pole Vault, clearing 9'.
